Dress – Zara / Shoes – Primark / Watch– Fossil / Bag – vintage, it was actually my mums wedding bag! / Lipstick – NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in ‘Manila’

We all have that one ‘comfy dress’. That dress we know we can throw on and it will just work, every time. An old faithful. Currently for me, this is that dress. I picked it up from the Zara sale back in January, and instantly fell in love with the smock design, polkadot pattern, lace material, just everything! I wore it constantly through the colder months, paired with heeled boots, tights and jacket it was a look I couldn’t get enough of.

Entering summer, I had to find ways to bring this dream dress of mine out into the sunshine yet look just as in place as it did through the winter, as I wasn’t prepared to say goodbye to it until the autumn.

So if like me you have that dress you adore but worry it’s just a bit too ‘wintery’ for the warmer weather, let me share with you some basic things you can easily do in order to bring any wintery outfit right into the summer months.

Accessories – Go for white! Especially if the dress or outfit in question is mainly a dark colour like mine. White instantly brightens up any outfit, whether it be a white bag or pair of white shoes, or both as I did! Speaking of shoes, I would opt for sandals to give off that ultimate summer vibe. I would even go for white nails too, my favourite nail colour for summer.

Hair and makeup – Light and natural makeup, complete with a bright lipstick will always work a charm in the summer months to freshen up any look. Relaxed hair will also contribute to that chilled summer feel.

Ditch the tights – Get your legs out, bare legs scream summer!

Of course if we get bad weather, which lets be honest here in the UK we can expect for at least half of the summer, then back to the black tights and jacket it is.

Until next time, have a great week!
